Bosch Rexroth

Bosch Rexroth: a 3D-printed exhibition model

A detailed model for the CUBE showroom. A technical assembly transformed into a clear, carefully hand-assembled display.

The brief and the finished project

Our work on an exhibition model for REXROTH Bosch Company was a clear example of how 3D printing can combine technical features with an attractive finish. The aim was not to create a working prototype or a test assembly, but a clean, visually accurate model that would present the company’s technology in its CUBE showroom.

From the outset, we knew the model would involve many details and components. The source material contained a wide range of technical shapes that had to be made printable while retaining the equipment’s character, proportions and clear overall arrangement. Every module, structural component and visual feature had to be prepared as a separate part, ready to be joined into a complete model later.

Production itself was time-consuming. The model comprised dozens of separate parts, many of which took hours to print using settings chosen for surface quality rather than speed. As an exhibition piece, its priorities were clean printing, accurate shapes and coordinated colours. The striking blue hydraulic modules, grey and light-grey structures and contrasting Rexroth logo panel required careful planning of colour sections during printing, followed by hand finishing where needed to achieve a coherent result.

Printing the components was only the first part of the work. It was followed by hand assembly, bringing together small features, pipework, structural frames and technical modules. Details such as simulated pipes, cables and small technical units had to be fitted precisely to look natural and accurate. The overall structure needed to be robust, clean and closely fitted, as visitors would be viewing it at close range.

Once complete, the model looked like a miniature working installation, although it is entirely static and serves solely as a visual presentation of the company’s technology.

That was the project’s central idea: to let showroom visitors explore the equipment at a scale that reveals the arrangement of its parts and provides a clear, engaging and attractive demonstration of REXROTH Bosch Company’s work.

For us, the project shows how 3D printing can serve not only technical prototyping but also visual communication, presentation and exhibition model making, supporting a brand and adding an appealing technical feature to a company’s space.

If you need a similar exhibition model or a way to present your technology through a detailed physical object, we would be happy to help.

We create models ranging from simple design concepts to complex assemblies based on technical documentation.
